WHAT ARE THEY?: Witch/Meister
ABILITIES: ~Magic~ Ivan specializing in manipulating light and darkness/shadows (which includes turning invisible and shooting rays of light/darkness at people.) His light magic is inferior to his darkness magic, however, which is why he has problems keeping his "sway of magic" down. His animal theme is a bear, and this can be seen with his scarf that can grow bear claws and can act as sort of an extra limb if needed. He also has the Soul Protect ability to keep his wavelength from being noticed by others.
~Meister~ He doesn't really have any special abilities as a meister (besides being able to use a weapon, obviously.) Not that he really needs any extra abilities, since his magic is usually enough for him in most situations.

ALLEGIANCE: Since I was raised in Shibusen, I believe it would make the most sense to be on their side, da? After all, I'm not a traitor to my values, and loyalty to your roots is one of them.

APPEARANCE: Ivan is a very intimidating figure, he's taller than most people and has a large build which would make one assume that he's a guard or something of the sort. He often wears a beige coat which extend down to his dark brown boots and is almost never found without a scarf. If not wearing a scarf (which is a very rare occasion) he always has something covering his neck, whether it is a turtleneck or a high collar which covers most of this weak spot. Under his beige coat is layer after layer of clothing. Some people suspect that Ivan's fat because of this, although he's anything but that.

If one has the rare opportunity of looking at Ivan's bare neck, they'll find that it's full of what looks like tattoos- most of these have to do with bears. These tattoos are the source of his magic, and he always keeps it under cover to keep it protected and/or keep others from knowing that he's a witch.

FEARS:
-Being alone: He's had very bad experiences when alone and is now terrified of even being the only person in a large room.
-That people will think he's evil: Ivan really wants to help people, but is paranoid that he'll end up becoming evil later on.
-Natalia: But only when she's being really obsessive over him(who wouldn't be scared by her in that mode?)
QUIRKS:
-Ivan tends to pat people on their head often.
-Also has a tendency to end his sentences with "Da,"
-And always carries a water pipe with him, despite the fact that he can just use his partner.
-His heart may fall out every once in a while... Don't ask why.

PERSONALITY:
Ivan is really kind at heart and (most) of his intentions are good, really it is. He wants what's best for people and works hard to make it so. The only problem is that he thinks that everyone being with him is the only way that this can happen, and hasn't even considered the thought that people might prefer something else.

A lot of people find him a bit intimidating at first. His large figure with a childish face is an odd combination, along with his insistence of being "comrades." Ivan tries his best to be nice, but there's some dark aura that surrounds him which makes people feel uneasy besides him.

Although Ivan's light magic can keep the "sway of magic" under control most of the time, there are moments when it takes over. This usually happens when he uses his dark magic or at times when he just... "snaps" and his dark magic overwhelms his light magic. In these episodes where his dark magic is dominant, Ivan becomes very sadistic, unstable, and a lot stronger than he usually is. He often times starts to torture people mentally and physically, calling it "a proper punishment for bad behavior." After one of these episodes, Ivan almost always feels extremely guilty and even cries because of how sorry he is.

He's not completely oblivious, but he never seems to notice other people's fear or anxiety towards him, although he is able to pick up on other stuff easily. It might be his blind ambitions, or he might simply deny their existence.

Despite, or because of his illusions(which is what he usually uses his magic for,) Ivan has a hard time figuring out what's real and what's not. There are rare occasions where his illusions seem to have a mind of its own and makes him unsure of what's real or not, along with the unfortunate people who happen to be around him at that time.

Ivan may seem like a teddy bear with a few screws loose, but he's more complex than that. He's actually pretty intelligent, especially in math and physics, although inept at technology. He also knows the ins and outs of the human mind, and is able to tell if someone wants to take advantage of him or his sisters and will make sure that anyone who tries to do so will be miserable. He can be very calculating when he wants to; a skill he learned from his experience with chess, but often isn't like that to people- Ivan knows how it can make a person too analytical and cold.

HISTORY:
Ivan was born the middle child of a witch mother and a meister father (both of which Ivan never got to know.) He's a product of an affair and his mother had abandoned him in the streets of Death City to die, despite him having great magical potential. Luckily, one of the teachers of Shibusen had the kindness to take him in and raise him at Shibusen. This decision had been very controversial, for what if this boy grew up and decided to cause chaos in the world? Shinigami-sama barely let him be, assuming that Ivan's light magic will negate the sway of magic.

Because Ivan's a witch, he was bullied often as a child- being pushed around constantly, being blamed on for things which he had nothing to do with, and being called names incessantly. As he grew up, however, he'd become strong enough to fight those bullies back and the social roles have switched from then.

He had never knew that he could be a meister until the First Gaian Ambush of Shibusen occurred and Ivan instinctively grabbed a weapon (who turned into a machine gun,) and started shooting at the golems and other enemies. This weapon refused to be Ivan's partner (since she was scared of the Russian,) and Ivan hasn't really used a weapon since. Now, with the new school year, he's planning on finding a partner to get stronger and help out more in the war.

Ivan stared at the ground. It was white, with little drops of red sprinkled around, adding color to the otherwise bleak area. Winter had come again and he hates it, hates it with a passion that makes him more violent and reckless.

"Gilbert, do you... hate me?" Ivan hesitates when the words form from his mouth, but his hands don't and he swings the pipe. Once, twice, thrice. He should stop, he really should. But Gilbert has been disobedient and needs to be punished, and Ivan forgot long ago when to show compassion and when not to.

This couldn't possibly be bad for the Prussian, could it? If one forgives a dog too easily for wetting the floor, then it'll break the rules repeatedly and it'll become a habit, and people shouldn't have bad habits like trying to escape. Ivan could try to be nicer, but that would be biased, and all things are equal in essence, da?

Another swing of the pipe. There's dried blood formed into a crust on the steel, and it's becoming a bit rusted. A shame, this pipe was Ivan's favorite thus far. It has helped him so much with helping people see the right way, to fix them and join him since he'll make sure to treat them well.

He... He is treating them well, right?
